New Operations Manager Appointed by TCRS Board
The Tantramar Community Radio Society has selected a veteran of over 30 years in the broadcast industry to head up operations at its new FM community radio station which is expected to sign on in late spring of this year.
Ron Bickle has been appointed Operations Manager of CFTA 107.9 FM effective March 20th, 2011.
Bickle brings extensive knowledge and expertise to the position having worked professionally in the radio industry for over 33 years, as an on-air personality, newsperson, technician, creative writer and most recently as Production Manager for four MBS stations, based in Moncton N.B.
Tantramar Community Radio Society Chairperson Geoff de Gannes says the Board of Directors was thrilled to have Bickle join the organization and assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the station on a full-time basis. “Having been a colleague of Ron’s for almost three decades, I can speak to the quality of his work and the commitment and dedication I know he will bring to our product.” de Gannes added.
Bickle, a native of Springhill and long time resident of Amherst, says he’s very much in tune with the target audience of CFTA-FM and looks forward to working with the many volunteers who will be coming on board.
Meanwhile, the radio society is in the process of having its tower and transmitter installed at its transmitter site in Fenwick and is currently negotiating a lease agreement for a downtown studio location which will be announced shortly. |
