It's the ultimate in nostalgia!

We are at 107.9 - at the extreme right hand edge of your FM dial !
The CFTA-FM transmitter high atop Fenwick Hill in Cumberland County N.S.  began operation on July 21 at 1:07 pm.

The top of the tower is about 600 feet above sea level, and at that height and with an ERP of 6,500 watts we have had good signal reports from most of Cumberland and Westmorland counties, including Moncton and Shediac, and from PEI and the Truro area.

If you are experiencing any static in our signal, try connecting an external antenna [ like a pair of rabbit ears ] to your tuner's "FM ANT" terminals.  Small clock radios and under-cabinet kitchen radios use the power cord as the antenna, so if it is coiled up, it won't work properly.

Many car radios only have an antenna wire embedded in the windshield. An external whip antenna works much better.

FM radio is "line-of-sight" - so reception is better on hilltops than in valleys.

CFTA-FM at U2 Day in Springhill

Bono and U2 couldn't make it to Springhill on July 31, but Geoff deGannes, Ron Bickle and Randy Geddes were there representing Tantramar Community Radio at "U2 Day". At 6 pm, the mass Town Choir sang "The Ballad Of Springhill" and it was recorded for playback on CFTA-FM.
